How do I close my joint accounts?

If you or your plus one are ready to move on from your Joint ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts, just send us a message and we’ll help guide you through the process.

We’ll close your joint accounts if either one of you request it and notify the other person of the closure (unless you've updated your signing authority and we require both account holders' authorisations).

You’ll each still be able to access your individual ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts.

If you would like to close your accounts, there are 3 things you can do before you get in touch to help speed up your request.

1. Return the balance of your Joint ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts to $0.00.
2. Check there aren’t any pending transactions or uncleared funds.
3. Redirect or cancel any direct debits or linked PayTo subscriptions.

If you want to open joint accounts again, you’ll have to wait at least 7 days after closing your joint accounts before sending or accepting a joint account invite.
