Closing your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts
If you do want to close your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts, we’ll be sorry to see you go. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts are connected, so you can’t close one without the other.
- You also need to hang on to your individual ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts if you’d like to keep your ANZ Plus Flex Saver or your joint accounts open. So, if you choose to close your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts, we’ll need to close these accounts as well.
- To close your accounts you'll need to return the balance to $0.00, which means you won't earn bonus interest on your ANZ Save account that month.
- If you're using your ANZ Plus account to offset or repay an ANZ Plus Home Loan, you'll need to de-link it and remember to make sure you're set up to cover your repayments moving forwards.
Ready to say goodbye?
If you're ready to move on, send us a message and we’ll help guide you through the process. Before you get in touch please:
- Return the balance of your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts to $0.00.
- Check there aren’t any pending transactions.
- Redirect or cancel any direct debits or linked PayTo subscriptions.
- If you're using it to offset your ANZ Plus Home Loan, de-link your ANZ Plus account in the Loans tab.
You may also need to have your new account details handy so we can send you any unpaid interest you've accrued on your savings.
Any advice is general and might not be right for you.
