Personalise your accounts

We all like things a certain way. With the ANZ App and Internet Banking, you can personalise your accounts to make banking more you-friendly. We can show you how.

Rename your accounts

Renaming your account is like giving it a nickname. It can help you identify the account and what you want to use it for.

How to rename your account in the ANZ App

  1. Open the app and log in
  2. On the Accounts screen, choose the account you'd like to rename
  3. Tap Manage and then tap the account name field
  4. From here, you can rename the account to suit you. Have some fun with it - you can even add emojis :)

Your account’s new nickname will only show in the ANZ App. If you’d like it to appear in ANZ Internet Banking, then you’ll need to update it there, too.

How to rename your accounts in Internet Banking

  1. Log in to Internet Banking
  2. Go to the Settings menu and select Personalise accounts
  3. Choose an account, then select Rename
  4. Type the name you’ve chosen for that account and Save.

Your account’s new nickname will only show in ANZ Internet Banking. If you’d like it to appear in the ANZ App, then you’ll need to update it there, too.

Only use nicknames you'd repeat in front of your mother

If you've used any restricted words or inappropriate language, your account name won’t change and you’ll be asked to remove those words before you can continue.

Nicknames can be up to 20 characters long and include letters and numbers but shouldn't include special characters or punctuation.

Please note: The account name won’t change in the banks official or legal records.

Reorder your accounts

  3. Tap and drag the icon on the right hand side of the screen to move your accounts up or down. The primary account will be shown in the blue header on the Accounts screen.

The new order of your accounts will only show in the ANZ App. If you’d like to reorder your accounts in ANZ Internet Banking, you can do that too.

  4.  Drag the account up or down the list. Repeat this process until your accounts are in your preferred order
  5. Once your accounts are in the order you want, make sure to select Save to save your changes.

The new order of your accounts will only show in ANZ Internet Banking. If you’d like to reorder your accounts in the ANZ App, you can do that too.

By linking and delinking your accounts in ANZ Internet Banking, you can display the accounts you want to see and hide the ones you don't.

What happens when you link or delink an account?

You can:

  • see it in your accounts list for both ANZ Internet Banking and the ANZ App
  • make payments
  • view the transaction history and balance.

If you're delinking an account, it won't show in your accounts lists but you can add it, at any time, by linking it in ANZ Internet Banking.

We suggest that before you delink any accounts from the ANZ App or Internet Banking, ensure you have set your statement preferences to Paper and online. This way you’ll continue receiving statements by mail.

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for an account to be linked using ANZ Internet Banking.

How to link or delink an account in Internet Banking

  1. Log in to Internet Banking
  2. Go to the Settings
  3. Select Link/delink personal account and follow the prompts.

You’ll receive a response under the Your requests section of Enquiries in Internet Banking within 24-48 hours.
