ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers can save payroll payment templates to help make payroll payments quicker and easier.

Once you have a template saved you can select it to populate your payroll payments so you don't have to add the details for each payment individually. You can easily edit a payroll template.

How do I edit a payroll template?

ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers can easily edit a payroll template.

  • Go to the "Payments" menu.
  • Select "Pay employees".
  • Select "Manage Pay Employees templates".
  • Click the "Select" button next to the Payroll template you wish to Edit.
  • Then select "Edit" and follow the steps below.

Alternatively you can:

  • Go to the "Payments" menu.
  • Select "Manage payment templates".
  • Click the "Select" button next to the Payroll template you wish to Edit.
  • Then select "Edit" and follow the steps below.

Step 1 - Make your edits

You can make the following edits to your payroll payment templates:

  • Business name: remember this will appear on the employees' statements so ensure it is accurate and clear with no special characters (e.g. !@$#%^#*).
  • Add more payments: follow steps 4-6 of the Make payroll payments page.
  • Remove payments: click the "Remove" button to the right of the payment.
  • Change amount: click the amount field and type a new amount in dollars and cents with a decimal point.

Step 2 - Save your changes

  • When you are happy with your edits, click the "Save" button.
  • Your template will now be updated and saved in your list of payroll templates.

Why can't I edit my template?

  • You cannot edit a payroll template if it has been used for a scheduled future transfer.
  • You must first cancel any pending future transfers connected with the template.
  • If you wish to delete a future dated transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 11.59pm Melbourne time on the day prior to the payment date.

Please note that you cannot edit a recurring or future dated transfer. You must delete and then re-submit a new payment.

Yes. You can edit, copy, rename or delete the templates. You can edit the following details:

  • The amount to be transferred.
  • Your/business name (this will appear on the employee's statement).
  • The employee details. You can remove an existing employee or add a new one.

This will be updated immediately.

When you edit a template it is updated immediately.

Once saved, the page will refresh and the template will be updated in the "Pay employees – Payment templates" list and can be used for payments at once.

You can add up to 99 payments/transfers in a single payment template.

You cannot edit a payroll payment template if it has been used for a scheduled future payment/transfer.

  • You must firstly cancel any pending future payments/transfers connected with the template.

If you wish to delete a future dated payment/transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to the payment date.
