Payment Issues
Why has my payment failed?
Why has my payment failed?
Your payment may have failed due to one of the reasons listed below.
Daily payment limit exceeded
Daily payment limits apply for Pay Anyone and BPAY payments. The good news is, you can view or edit your daily limits in-app:
- Go to the Profile icon
- Tap on Payment Settings
- Select the limit you’d like to update
This limit applies to all payments made on the day, so don’t forget to factor these in to see if you’ve exceeded your limit.
Invalid payment details
When you make a payment, we'll check to see if it's addressed to a valid account – if it isn’t, we won’t be able to process the payment.
If your payment has failed, check you've entered the payment details correctly, and check the details you've been provided are correct. Even if you're paying an existing contact, it's worth checking to see if their payment details have changed.
Crypto payment restrictions
To help protect you and your money, we block payments by default that we reasonably believe are being made to crypto exchanges. If you wish to make a payment to a crypto exchange, you'll first need to disable your Crypto Protect setting:
- Go to the Profile icon.
- Tap on Security.
- Tap on Scam Safe.
- Select and toggle off Crypto Protect.
Once you've disabled Crypto Protect, any payments we identify as being made to a crypto exchange will be limited to $10,000 each calendar month (based on information available to us at the time). Be sure to consider if you've reached the limit if your payment has failed.
Your crypto limit can't be altered, so if you've reached your limit and want to make another payment to what we think might be a crypto exchange, you'll need to wait until next month.
