How do I add or remove my Tax File Number (TFN)?
You’re not required to provide us with your Tax File Number (TFN) or TFN exemption. But if we don’t have it, we must deduct Withholding Tax from any interest you earn. Withholding Tax is deducted at the highest marginal tax rate (plus any applicable government levies) in accordance with tax law.
To add your TFN or TFN exemption for Aged Pension or Other Government Pensions:
- Go to the Profile icon.
- Tap on Profile.
- Tap on Tax File Number and follow the prompts.
Message us in the app if you need to add a different TFN Exemption type, such as a Non-Resident or Child exemption, or to remove your TFN for any reason:
- Go to the Support tab in the ANZ Plus app
- Tap on Message Us
TIP: Remember never to share your TFN or any sensitive information in a message.
Have other ANZ accounts?
Even if you’ve previously provided your TFN or TFN exemption to ANZ, you may still need to add it in the ANZ Plus app for it to be applicable to your ANZ Plus profile.
When you add or remove your TFN or TFN exemption in the ANZ Plus app, we may apply the change to other interest-bearing accounts you hold with ANZ.
