How do I add or remove my Tax File Number (TFN)?
It's not compulsory to provide your Tax File Number (TFN) or TFN exemption, but without it we're required to deduct withholding tax from any interest you earn.
Withholding Tax is deducted at the highest marginal tax rate (plus any applicable government levies) in accordance with tax law.
When should I provide a TFN?
You should only provide your TFN in the ANZ Plus app if you have a credit interest-bearing account with ANZ Plus. That means any account where you earn interest on your balance.
How do I add or remove my TFN?
To add your TFN or TFN exemption in the app:
- Go to the Profile icon.
- Tap on Profile.
- Tap on Tax File Number and follow the prompts.
Message us in the app if you need to add a different TFN exemption type (such as a non-resident or child exemption). Remember never to share your TFN or any sensitive information in a message.
To remove your TFN or TFN exemption, tap on Remove Tax File Number or Remove TFN Exemption.
Have other ANZ accounts?
Even if you’ve previously provided your TFN or TFN exemption to ANZ, you may still need to add it in the ANZ Plus app for it to be applicable to your ANZ Plus profile.
When you add or remove your TFN or TFN exemption in the ANZ Plus app, we may apply the change to other interest-bearing accounts you hold with ANZ.
