2024-12-11 22:00

ANZ New Zealand has secured four prestigious awards from Canstar for its business credit cards, small business banking, agribusiness banking, and most satisfied customers in the small business merchant category.

For the fifth consecutive year, ANZ was named Bank of the Year for Business Credit Cards, thanks to its strong performance in both low-rate and rewards cards. The ANZ Visa Business Airpoints card and the ANZ Visa Business Low Rate card were particularly highlighted for their competitive features and benefits, including lower interest rates and comprehensive security measures.

In the small business sector, ANZ was recognised as the Bank of the Year for the fifth year in a row. This award reflects ANZ's dedication to supporting small businesses with products like an effectively fee-free high-volume transaction account and an overdraft account with 200 fee-free transactions per month.

ANZ's commitment to the agribusiness sector was also acknowledged with the Bank of the Year award for the 11th consecutive year. Canstar praised ANZ for its consistent excellence across its network, product offerings, and tailored support for agribusiness customers.

ANZ New Zealand Managing Director Business Lorraine Mapu said "ANZ’s continued success in these awards showcases its dedication to providing exceptional financial services across various sectors.

"Whether it’s through innovative business credit card solutions, comprehensive support for small businesses, or tailored services for the agribusiness community, ANZ remains a trusted partner for New Zealanders," Lorraine said.

"We're incredibly proud to have been recognised in these categories again this year, and I want to thank all of our customer who put their trust in us."

Bank of the Year | Small Business

ANZ has also been named Canstar’s Bank of the Year | Small Business for the fifth year in a row. This award underscores ANZ’s dedication to supporting small businesses in New Zealand. Canstar’s research team highlighted ANZ’s "effectively fee-free high-volume transaction account" and its "overdraft account that comes with 200 fee-free transactions per month" as key factors in their decision. The bank’s comprehensive range of products, including market-leading Airpoints, CashBack, and Low Rate credit cards, further solidified its top position.

The judges noted ANZ’s exceptional customer service, with business specialists available Monday to Saturday and a call center open for general business inquiries 12 hours on weekdays and 10 hours on weekends. This level of support ensures that small business owners have access to the assistance they need to thrive.

Bank of the Year | Agribusiness

In the agribusiness sector, ANZ has been recognised as Canstar’s Bank of the Year for the 11th consecutive year. This award is a testament to ANZ’s unwavering support for New Zealand’s farming community. Canstar praised ANZ for its "consistent, day-to-day excellence across its network of branches, account offers, and loan products." The bank’s comprehensive product offerings, including loans, overdraft facilities, and reward and low-rate credit cards, were key factors in its win.

The judges also highlighted ANZ’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by agribusinesses. This includes support for sustainable farming practices, social empowerment initiatives, financial hardship assistance, and succession planning. ANZ’s ability to provide tailored support and services to its agribusiness customers has cemented its position as the leading bank in this sector.

Bank of the Year | Business Credit Cards

For the fifth consecutive year, ANZ was awarded Canstar’s Bank of the Year | Business Credit Cards. This accolade reflects ANZ's strong performance in both low-rate and rewards business credit cards. According to Canstar, "ANZ’s Visa Business Airpoints card leads the Frequent Flyer profile, offering cardholders the ability to earn Airpoints Dollars at a competitive rate with their everyday spend." Additionally, the ANZ Visa Business Low Rate card remains one of the most competitive low-rate options available in the market.

The judges were particularly impressed by the comprehensive features of ANZ’s business credit cards, which include lower interest rates, insurance protection against unauthorized use, and dynamic security codes. These features, combined with the ability to set individual spending limits and direct reporting through ANZ Internet Banking, make ANZ’s offerings stand out in the competitive business credit card market.

Most Satisfied Customers | Small Business Merchant Services

In today’s increasingly cashless society, small businesses are totally reliant on their digital merchant services. Should their sales terminals go down, so too does business and profits.

This is why it’s essential for banks to deliver their small business customers totally reliable merchant services that deliver 100% satisfaction.

According Canstar's judges, "ANZ is the clear winner in our awards survey, earning great ratings from its customers: top 5-Star ratings across all the categories listed above except for Fees & Charges and Online Reporting, for which it earns 4-Star ratings."
