Over the last week, hundreds of ANZ staff and their families have taken up the opportunity to have a selfie taken with athletes from the New Zealand Olympic team – despite being thousands of kilometres from Tokyo.

They’ve taken part in ANZ’s Olympic photo booth – which gave them the chance to pick four virtual athletes from New Zealand Olympic Team to take an ‘Olym-PIC’ with, before sending it to their phone.
One of those lining up was Wellington-based Project Administrator Monique Le Page.
“The athletes won’t have their family and friends cheering from the side lines this year so it’s great to do all we can to support them from back here,” she said.
“I feel proud to be sponsoring them - especially the Paralympians, because my uncle competed at the Paralympics a few years ago.”
Astrud Burgess, ANZ NZ’s General Manager Data and Marketing, said the relationship provides a way for the bank to demonstrate its support for the country's sporting heros.
“It’s important that we give our staff opportunities to participate in our sponsorships – and this one has been fun,” she said.
“It was great going down at lunchtime today and seeing so many people getting their photo taken, having fun and sharing our support of the athletes with their friends and family.
“There’s something magic about the Olympics, and it was a fantastic opportunity to bring a little slice of that to our people.”
If you’re looking for a good way to get behind the team yourself, check out our NZ Team App - it has athlete bios, event schedules and notifications to receive those important medal alerts so you won’t miss a thing!
You can even send our athletes a pulse of support which they will feel.
ANZ is the Major Sponsor of the New Zealand Olympic Team and an Official Partner of Paralympics New Zealand.
