ANZ NZ services available during lockdown

2020-03-25 08:07

ANZ New Zealand banking services will be available to customers during the next few weeks.

Customers can use internet banking and ANZ’s mobile banking app ANZ goMoney to do the majority of their banking, cash will be available at ATMs, and the Contact Centre is available 7 days a week.

As call volumes increase, ANZ branch staff from across the country are being redeployed to answer customer calls.

“We will continue to be there to help our customers, but help will look a bit different over the coming weeks,” Managing Director Retail and Business Banking Ben Kelleher said.

“There is a lot of really helpful information on our website and we encourage customers to visit anz.co.nz to check for the latest updates and to sign up for internet banking if they aren’t already.

“If not, our contact centre teams can help customers register for our digital services and help with more complex banking enquiries.

“The contact centre is receiving more calls than usual so we ask for, and appreciate, your patience.”

For the small number of New Zealanders who can’t be helped online or over the phone 61 ANZ branches will be open 9am – 12noon each Wednesday morning, starting April 1 until further notice.

The services offered in these branches will be limited and will only be available to customers who haven’t been able to do their banking through other channels.

Important information for customers visiting branches

The health and wellbeing of ANZ staff and customers remains a key concern for ANZ NZ.

“We are asking branch staff to be more vigilant about their social distances with colleagues and customers so there will also be a few changes for customers when they’re visiting the branch.”

In the 61 ANZ branches open on Wednesdays there will be:

  • ‘Service line-up gaps’ so there is space between tellers.
  • Markings on the floor to help guide customers and ensure they are practising physical distancing while waiting in line or interacting with our service staff.

To protect our customers and employees we ask customers do not visit a branch if they’re feeling unwell, have travelled overseas in the last few weeks or if they’ve been in contact with someone who has – or might have – Covid-19.
