ANZ today announced the appointment of Paul Goodwin as United States Country Head.
Based in New York, Mr Goodwin will report to Farhan Faruqui, Group Executive of ANZ’s International business. He is expected to commence his new role upon regulatory approval.
Mr Goodwin has been with ANZ for 16 years, and is currently Managing Director, Institutional for New Zealand. Before joining ANZ, he held senior corporate finance roles at Credit Suisse in the United Kingdom and The National Bank of New Zealand.
Mr Faruqui said: “Under Paul’s leadership our New Zealand Institutional business has consolidated a leading market position, topping league tables across nearly all products.
“I am confident his deep experience managing customer relationships will be a great contributor to the strength of our US business.
“The US is an important market in ANZ’s global network and remains key to our strategy of facilitating trade and capital flows across our home markets and Asia Pacific.”
ANZ has had a presence in the US for more than 50 years, and during that time has built a strong client base and a leading market share of the US corporate market in Australia.
Mr Goodwin replaces Grant Knuckey, who recently took on the role of Chief Risk Officer for ANZ New Zealand and Pacific.
The process of replacing Mr Goodwin in New Zealand is underway and an announcement will be made in due course, following local regulatory approval.
