In a year when all the key financial metrics were heading in the right direction and each division made a material contribution, ANZ’s full-year statutory profit rose 16 per cent to $A6.5 billion.
The bank’s capital position was stronger with a Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio of 12.3 per cent while return-on-equity was up more than 50 basis points to 10.4 per cent. This capital strength and ANZ’s underlying profitability enabled a final dividend of A74 cents per share fully franked.
Momentum returned to Australian home loans, ANZ Plus was launched, simplification continued and there was disciplined growth in Institutional and Commercial.
