International students - Simple banking, so you can focus on your study

Being an international student is challenging enough without worrying about money. That's why ANZ helps you every step of the way with great student deals.

Studying in Australia?

Coming to Australia to obtain an education and hopefully have some fun along the way, or perhaps you are already here. The choices you make today can help you get the most out of your student days.

Let ANZ make banking simple and easy for you. Not only will you be free to concentrate on your studies, you'll also have access to a range of special offers and products designed especially for you.

Everyday banking

An everyday bank account is helpful for accessing your money quickly and conveniently.

If you're a full time student at an Australian Educational Institution, with ANZ Access Advantage you can apply for a waiver of the monthly account service fee and get unlimited everyday ANZ transactions for $5 a month.  The only time you’ll incur additional ANZ fees on your account is if you try to or do overdraw your account and/or transact overseas. Plus, if you're aged 18 or over you may have access to Visa Debit so you can enjoy the freedom to use your own money online, over the phone and overseas.

Saving for your goals

You might have some savings, or maybe you're going to get a part time job. However you choose to support yourself, an ANZ Progress Saver account can help grow your cash while you study.

With ANZ Progress Saver you can earn bonus interest when you make at least one deposit of $10 into your account and don't take anything out in that month.1 What's more an ANZ Progress Saver account has no monthly account service fee and can be linked to your Access Advantage account, making it easy to transfer funds.

Great interest rate and easy access to cash

If you have $5,000 to invest, open an ANZ V2 PLUS account. You get:

  • a competitive rate of interest
  • five free ANZ transactions per month
  • unlimited ANZ Internet Banking transactions
  • instant access to your funds through ANZ branches, ANZ ATMs, EFTPOS, ANZ Phone Banking and ANZ Internet banking
  • no monthly account service fee2.
Grow your money with a fixed term investment
ANZ Term Deposits could be an ideal short term, low risk investment that delivers a fixed rate of interest over a fixed investment term. If you need a regular income from your deposit and don't need immediate access to your funds, then an ANZ Term Deposit could be an ideal solution for you.
Send, receive or exchange money from overseas

The ANZ Foreign Exchange Service allows you to exchange certain foreign currencies into Australian Dollars at any ANZ branch and deposit certain foreign currencies directly into your ANZ account. If you're travelling overseas you can buy foreign cash or travellers cheques over the counter or pay directly from your ANZ account. Fees and charges apply.

Friends and family overseas can electronically transfer money directly into your account from their local bank. To send money overseas simply use the banking details of the person you wish to send money to and we will electronically transfer the funds from your account to theirs. Fees and charges apply.

You can find a conveniently located ANZ branch by using our branch locator.

1. Month commences on the day the account is opened.

2. Full-time students need to show proof of enrolment with an Australian Educational Institution at any ANZ branch in order to receive a monthly account service fee waiver.
